Michael Barrett has more than two decades of experience working as a reporter, producer and editor at a variety of media groups across North Carolina, including community and daily newspapers. Prior to launching Mike’d-Up Media LLC, he worked as a content producer for Neighborhood TV and Cox Media Group. Prior to that, he spent 14 years covering the Charlotte region at the Gaston Gazette in Gastonia, and was named Gatehouse Media’s Newswriter of the Year in 2015. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in English from East Carolina University in Greenville. He lives with his family in Charlotte.
